Job description

As an EBS Apps DBA Onsite Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments and Oracle Databases. This role requires a deep understanding of database performance, security, and middleware integration while ensuring seamless operations in an enterprise setting. You will lead onsite DBA activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive automation initiatives to enhance efficiency.

Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Ontario/Vancouver/Calgary or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Oracle EBS Administration: Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize Oracle EBS application and database components.

Performance Tuning & Optimization: Conduct database performance analysis, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies.

Security & Compliance: Ensure database security, encryption, and compliance with enterprise security standards.

Patching & Upgrades: Execute patching, cloning, and upgrading strategies for EBS applications and databases.

Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design and implement backup strategies to ensure system reliability and business continuity.

Automation & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automating DBA tasks, minimizing manual interventions.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with infrastructure teams, application developers, and business users to address technical challenges.

Onsite Leadership: Provide technical guidance, mentor junior DBAs, and ensure smooth operations at the client location.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Oracle EBS R12, Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c), and middleware technologies.

Performance Tuning: In-depth experience in SQL tuning, indexing strategies, and diagnostic tools (AWR, ADDM, OEM).

Security & Backup: Familiarity with database encryption, role-based access controls, and RMAN backup strategies.

Automation & Scripting: Hands-on experience with Shell scripting, PL/SQL automation, and IT orchestration frameworks.

Cloud & Multi-Cloud Strategies: Exposure to cloud migration and hybrid database architecture (AWS/Azure/OCI).

Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities to manage onsite DBA operations effectively.

Preferred Experience:

8+ years of experience in Oracle EBS Apps DBA roles.

Prior experience in onsite leadership and stakeholder engagement.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
Estimated annual compensation range for the candidate based in the below location will be:
Ontario- $89004 to $ 115491
BC- $ 81575 to $ 116670
