Position: Optometrist
Location: Dorking, Surrey
Salary: Total package worth up to £80,000 depending on experience + £10K joining bonus + up to £20K relocation support
Working hours: Full or part time with 1 weekend day per week and flexibility on hours
Experience level: This role is open to experienced Optometrists who are registered with the GOC
Specsavers in Dorking are looking for an experienced Optometrist to join them on a full or part time basis. They are looking for someone who is passionate about their career and providing exceptional patient care.
You will be working alongside an experienced and highly successful team of 20 optical professionals – some who have worked in the store since day one! Within the store there are fully trained Optical Assistants, Dispensing Opticians, a Dispensing Manager, a Store Manager as well as multiple experienced resident Optometrists meaning you can focus on what you do best.
Dorking opened in 2001 and with a full refurbishment planned for the coming months, you will be working in a new, fresh, and modern environment. There are 3 test rooms, all fully equipped with brand new clinical equipment including Nidek OCT and auto-refractors.
The management team are passionate about the clinical and/ or professional development of their team – they will encourage, support, and fully fund you through Professional Certificates or if you would like to own your own store one day they are on hand to support with this too.
Our store is in the busy market town of Dorking – this is a perfect location for those who want to be based close to the hustle and bustle of London whilst still being able to enjoy the beautiful countryside and historic villages that Surrey has to offer. Dorking is just 5 minutes off the M25 and there is free parking available at the store. If travelling by train the station is a 10-minute walk from the store and has great links into London Bridge, Waterloo, and Victoria.

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist, we are searching for someone who shares our store’s ethos. Someone who wants to grow, develop, and offer exceptional customer care along the way. We want a practitioner who prides themselves on their clinical judgment, that isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach and who is keen to get involved and build rapport with the rest of the team. In summary, we’re looking for a skilled resident Optometrist to join us, be part of the team and assist in driving our practice forward.
