Description
The role could be based in different sites in Germany, Uk, Spain, Italy and France.
Are you interested in launching the next generation of Amazon SC’s in Europe? Do you want to be part of the ongoing growth and expansion of Amazon’s infrastructure? Do you want to be a Subject Matter Expert concerning SC Yard design? Are you reluctant to apply because you’re concerned you don’t have the right qualifications? The Global Engineering Services Team has a full training plan and support network to help you grow and succeed within this role. The Middle Mile Engineering Programs (MMEP) Innovation & Engineering is looking for a Simulations and Optimization Engineer to join the team. The role is empowered to challenge status quo and directly influence future infrastructure designs. In cooperation with other GES stakeholders, including but not limited to WWRE & Design, ACES/PE, AR, Ops, the team aims to optimize building designs, modules, and processes, in ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and AA experience related to SC. The candidate will ensure our future buildings, retrofits and expansions will both attend to the operational excellence requirements and have frugal solutions. Starting from the Inbound vehicle and volume profile, indicators of the to be processed volume hourly distribution is available. This is the starting point for process centric design. Working backwards from minimum manual interactions with shipments, the Simulation and Optimization Engineer has to create material flow concepts and evaluate them against True North processes, productivity and costs. Through simulation, specific business cases will be modelled and assessed with internal and external subject matter experts. Through simulation of alternative scenarios and identified areas to improve, concepts will be validated. An in depth report including clear recommendations and actions to meet the desired state will close the loop.
Would you like an opportunity to travel and work in multiple countries and cultures?
