Optical Engineer - Illumination Module Design and Analysis
Job Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to join our team, specializing in the design and analysis of illumination modules using LightTools and Zemax. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optical engineering, with expertise in designing and optimizing illumination systems for various applications.

Responsibilities:

Design and analyze illumination modules using LightTools and Zemax, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.Develop and implement optical models to simulate and predict system behavior, including stray light, ghosting, and other optical phenomena.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate illumination modules into larger systems, ensuring seamless interaction and optimal performance.Conduct tolerance analysis and sensitivity studies to ensure robustness and manufacturability of designs.Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in optical design and analysis tools, applying this knowledge to improve design processes and outcomes.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians as needed.

Work Experience

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in optical engineering, with a focus on illumination module design and analysis.Proficiency in LightTools and Zemax, with experience in designing and optimizing illumination systems.Strong understanding of optical principles, including radiometry, photometry, and colorimetry.Experience with tolerance analysis, sensitivity studies, and statistical process control.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions.

Nice to Have:

Experience with other optical design and analysis tools, such as Code V or ASAP.Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or MATLAB.Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including injection molding and assembly.Experience with testing and validation of optical systems.
