Job Summary

The Northville Health Center is an Ambulatory Care facility comprised of clinical and diagnostic services, dedicated to providing high quality health care services for Adults and Children.  The 2-story facility is located at the corner of 7 Mile and Haggerty in Northville Township.  We are seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-oriented individuals who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families and employees.

The Northville Health Center Kellogg Eye Center seeks to improve lives through curing, preventing and treating eye disease. By performing basic tests and procedures under the close supervision of medical and allied health staff. Mastery of all basic tests and procedures.

Perform the duties of an ophthalmic technician, as well as:

Perform ophthalmic tests and procedures with proficiency in the ophthalmic sub-specialtiesCoordinate follow-up care of patientsAssist in training and coordinating the work of ophthalmic assistants and techniciansParticipate in research studiesActively assist in clinic workflow, scheduling of technicians, communicating delays to patientsOther duties as directed by supervisorProvide exceptional patient serviceAssist in clinical proceduresRequired Qualifications*

ASSOCIATE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS

Graduation from high school is necessary; two years of college with courses in health science area is desirable.Successful completion of Michigan Medicine's 12-week training program is required or some experience as an Ophthalmic Technician is required.Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology is required within one year of employment.Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and medical terminology is desirable.This classification requires Primary Source Verification.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS

Graduation from high schoolReasonable experience as an Ophthalmic TechnicianCertification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in OphthalmologyRespectful and compassionate attitudeAble to maintain confidentiality and follow all guidelines for documentation. Collaborative and collegial, demonstrates integrityOrganized, able to maintain and coordinate multiple items. Excellent computer skills; proficient in data entry, analysis, graphing, Microsoft OfficeFamiliarity with electronic equipment.Desired Qualifications*Associate's Degree in health care1-3 years of Ophthalmic Technician experienceWork Schedule

Monday- Friday, dependent on clinical needs

Background Screening
