Job Description

The role of the Ophthalmic Scribe involves documenting physician visits in the EMR system and scribing for multiple physicians. The position requires hands-on interaction with some instruments when requested by the physician. Post-visit workups with patients and communication based on the doctor's documented plan are also crucial components of the job.

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM, depending on clinic needs. Training will take place at the admin building in the Galleria. You will work in a team environment, alongside 8 to 24 other individuals, as each physician requires 8 clinic staff. Your primary location will be the Bellaire clinic, one of the busiest in Houston, with over 100 patients a day. You will also support the Sugarland and Cypress clinics as needed. Schedules are provided two weeks in advance, and mileage reimbursement is available for travel beyond the three primary clinics. The pace is extremely fast, with 80 to 100 patients seen daily. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs, short and groomed nails, and hair must be tied back.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.
