Must be able to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions, drawings, and blueprints. Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and have sufficient computer knowledge to make program changes if needed. EDUCATION REQUIRED

This position is primarily responsible for operating various machine tools varying from fully manual operation to completely automated computer-controlled machining centers.

Ensures to perform his tasks to meet customer requirements and Howmet’s quality procedures while keeping minimum inventory.

DUTIES/RESPONSABILITIES

 

 

Organizes work in process into groups according to required machine operation. Calls up appropriate machine instructions on Process Method Sheets (PMS) book. Installs proper cutting tools into the machine tool, measures tool length, and enters measurement into the computer. Installs correct fixture into the machine tool. Machine’s castings and visually inspect against PMS standards. Maintains a clean and orderly work area. Operates various machine tools varying from fully manual operation to completely automated computer-controlled machining centers. Reads tolerancing diagrams and operates gauges to assure proper tolerances. Performs other duties as required. Respects the values and code of ethics of the company.
