* Responsibilities for Internal Candidates JOB SUMMARY This position is primarily responsible for operating various machine tools varying from fully manual operation to completely automated computer-controlled machining centers. Ensures to perform his tasks to meet customer requirements and Howmet’s quality procedures while keeping minimum inventory. DUTIES/RESPONSABILITIES + Organizes work in process into groups according to required machine operation. + Calls up appropriate machine instructions on Process Method Sheets (PMS) book. + Installs proper cutting tools into the machine tool, measures tool length, and enters measurement into the computer. + Installs correct fixture into the machine tool. + Machine’s castings and visually inspect against PMS standards. + Maintains a clean and orderly work area. + Operates various machine tools varying from fully manual operation to completely automated computer-controlled machining centers. + Reads tolerancing diagrams and operates gauges to assure proper tolerances. + Performs other duties as required. + Respects the values and code of ethics of the company. + Respects the Environment, Health & Safety programs of the company. Qualifications for Internal Candidates REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES + Must be able to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions, drawings, and blueprints. + Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and have sufficient computer knowledge to make program changes if needed. EDUCATION REQUIRED + High School Diploma or equivalent combination of both experience and training. PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATION + None EXPERIENCE + Six to eight months of on the-job training is required to achieve proficiency.
