Description
Responsible for p erforming manual work in connection with equipment operation, landscaping, and river cleanup tasks, and providing daily oversight of all work assignments, ensuring assigned tasks are completed each day.
Minimum Requirements
Requirements: Must be able to operate various types of motorized construction and landscaping equipment, as well as different types of watercrafts, including, but not limited to, trash skimmer vessels. Must have the ability to understand the objective of each assignment and then make sound decisions to ensure task(s) are completed safely and according to schedule. Must be able to learn signaling and rigging. Must be able to operate all equipment in a skilled and safe manner over rough, icy and/or unstable surfaces. Must be able to swim.
Experience: Minimum six (6) years’ experience in both the operation and maintenance of construction and landscaping equipment and the operation of boats and trash skimmers.
License/Certifications: Valid Class A CDL License. Must be able to pass a boat safety course and have the boat endorsement added to a valid New Jersey Driver's License. Annual CPR and AED certification required.
Education: High School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma or equivalency certificate.
Physical Demands: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation to ensure the health and safety of oneself and others are maintained. Must qualify for and possess the ability to perform entry into confined spaces while wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as, but not limited to, canister and dust masks as well as SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus). Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, legs and the whole body such as climbing (including ladders), lifting up to 50 lbs., balancing, walking, stooping and handling heavy objects.
Working Conditions: Workers are employed in extreme weather conditions associated with rivers and streams and in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system. Will be required to work indoors and outdoors depending on the nature of the position.

The expected base pay range for this position is $104,212 to $130,250. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, education, training, and formal credentials.
