**Work Schedule** First Shift (Days) **Environmental Conditions** Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Laboratory Setting, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials **Job Description** **Operator II Job Description** As an Operator II, you will play an exceptionally vital role in the final formulation of various product lines that serve the Biotech industry. Attention to detail is essential, as errors can lead to significant interpretive mistakes. **Essential Functions:** + Conduct production and quality analysis of reagents, components, and finished products in accordance with SOPs, work instructions, and manufacturing scheduling, ensuring timely availability of high-quality, efficient products + Communicate effectively with workgroups to ensure the completion of daily production tasks + Operate in both standard and cleanroom environments, adhering strictly to room-specific PPE requirements + Supervise and operate production equipment, making vital adjustments to maintain smooth operations and high-quality outcomes + Collaborate with other technicians to perform formulation, filling, and labeling of products + Accurately comprehend and complete production paperwork, including product reconciliation, label reconciliation, labor sheets, product fill checks, and torque checks + Follow manufacturing steps accurately as outlined in the paperwork, without deviations + Handle chemicals and hazardous materials safely + Adhere to all company safety regulations and procedures + Follow ISO 13485 guidelines and all company SOPs + Clean and sanitize work areas, machines, glassware, and equipment as needed or advised + Be flexible to work overtime as the need arises + Perform other duties as assigned **Physical Requirements:** + Regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, talk, hear, and smell + Frequently reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl + Ability to sit for extended periods depending on the nature of the work + Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds + Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus + Work in a moderate noise level environment **Skills:** + Proficiency in basic packaging techniques, equipment, and protocol record retention + Comfortable handling chemicals + Strong computational skills + Complete tasks accurately without deviation **Education:** + Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent experience + Preferred: BS (or AS + meaningful experience) in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or other related life science field **Experience Required:** + Follow policies, procedures, and instructions, and to enforce consistently and independently to the production schedule + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities + Basic digital literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite **Preferred:** + 1+ year experience in a life science/biotechnology field + Experience with collecting optical density measurements and detailed formulation of bulk reagents + Experience with filling, capping, and labeling using precision liquid handling tools and processes + Experience in manufacturing diagnostic products for research and regulated markets + Experience in completing documentation using Good Documentation Practices (GDP) Thermo Fisher Scientific is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status.
