Summary of the Position:Operates machines to produce products, ensuring accurate temperatures, machine settings, equipment set-ups, in-process measurements, and quality product. Doing this while ensuring that all Safety rules are being followed.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRead job specifications from the Production Record to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.Observe machine operation and make adjustments as needed.Take samples of products and perform in-process testing.Maintain all required documentation in accordance with the Work Instructions.Assist Set-Up personnel to set up the machine, empty baskets, and prepare the machine for changeover. Also assist with the actual changeover.Notify Lead Operator when issues occur with equipment or product and address issues affecting product quality.Spread product as required.Assist with cleanup and other Production duties as needed.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent experience.
ExperienceRequired: No previous work experience required
Preferred: Previous work experience in manufacturing, operations, production or lab settings, or related fields, including troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting machinery.
Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures and policies, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add and subtract in all units of measure, including time, volume, weight, and distance using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Other Skills and AbilitiesAbility to use measuring instruments and simple hand tools. Ability to be attentive to tasks at hand and follow management and supervisory directives.

Work EnvironmentThe employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to vibration and to wet or humid indoor conditions. The noise level is moderate to loud.
