Job DescriptionAs our Operator Gr2 Mining of your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Follow SHE standards and specific legislation related to vehicle control.Adhere, read, and sign all appropriate work instructions and standards.Attend Safety meetings with the supervisor and team and ensure adherence to all safety protocols.Effectively identify hazards and safety deviations in the area of responsibility.Apply SLAM/HIRA/Mini HIRA correctly and report any safety or health-related issues.Take all necessary safety precautions when working on auxiliary equipment.Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.Performance and DeliveryEquipment OperationsOperate and control equipment and vehicles safely to transport materials, components, and equipment as instructed, ensuring compliance with procedures, specifications, requirements, timeframes, and budgetary limits.Communicate with mine personnel to coordinate and ensure safe operations.Prepare and load production areas according to operational plans.Equipment InspectionConduct thorough pre-shift and walk-around inspections to ensure equipment functionality and safety, complying with regulations and prescribed standards to prevent damage, injury, or financial loss.Report deviations or defects in equipment and components to the supervisor to ensure timely remedial actions.AssistanceProvide support to supervisors and co-workers within your area of competence or, when delegated, adhere to company policies to achieve functional objectives.Training and Compliance:Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to the safe and efficient operation of auxiliary mining equipment. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.Emergency Response:Respond to emergencies, following established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.Team Collaboration:Collaborate with other members of the mining team, including operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel, to ensure a cohesive and productive work environment.This role is in Mining (MIN) department on a band P6 level reporting to the Supervisor
QualificationsGrade 12/N3 TechnicalSA Drivers LicenceValid Dover Certificate (when required)Relevant HME LicencesCompetency A (advantageous)
Technical Knowledge
Entry-level role requiring practical experience through internships or relevant work, along with applicable licenses or certifications.Understand relevant equipment and component functionality of systems, e.g. Collision prevention, fire suppression system, etc.Knowledge of Mine traffic rules.Radio, Loading, Lock-out and Pre-shift inspection procedures.Safety standards.Company policies and procedures Familiarity with the layout of the work section.Understanding of mining equipment and its operation.Adherence to safety standards in the workplace.Capability to identify and solve problems related to equipment and tools.Knowledge of company policies and procedures.Understand safety, health, and environment, as well as legislative, statutory, and regulatory requirements.Additional InformationWho we are?
