Process Experts are responsible for the operation of multiple reactor systems or filtration systems. They safely operate and troubleshoot process equipment, support lock out tag out, assist maintenance with troubleshooting, and will eventually train future operators. Operators will be expected to learn all jobs in the unit including floor operations, control room, material movement, and filtration.
Responsibilities: Need the ability to understand P&IDs and process flow, work on a computer, operate a forklift, and do repetitive manual lifts.Support work groups with walk downs of equipment and be able to issue Safe Work PermitsMaintain a clean work area and should have the mind to continuously support and improve housekeeping.Understand and follow all safety procedures and protocols and have the courage to stop work if they become aware of an unsafe condition.Follow batch recipes and SOPs strictly and ensure appropriate data recording.Perform preliminary troubleshooting on equipment and process malfunctions and be prepared and able to make first attempt repairs where appropriate and escalate as needed.Be approachable by other team members and be willing to support other team members and leadership.Record pertinent information for the day and deliver handovers with incoming team members. Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED2 years of chemical manufacturing experience or 5 years of manufacturing experience Some technical college or mechanical aptitude a plusSolid equipment and mechanical skillsStrong initiative and personal ownershipAbility to problem solve complex process issuesGood work ethic as indicated by work recordAbility to work independently and as a team memberIntermediate computer skills and ability to understand handheld technologyStrong oral and written communication skills, excellent observation skillsSolid safety regulation understanding/practiceAbility to learn and acquire information in both a computer-based and hands on environmentAbility to lift 50+ pounds
Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge, experience and demonstrated good performance in chemical processesDCS or control room operator experienceAptitude to learn and acquire various different operational and maintenance skills
