Join our team today! Parker Lord has an immediate opening for an Operations Technologist.
The candidate will focus on supporting the pre- and post-bond chemical processing lines for both HCL and silicone, as well as performing various shop floor execution tasks. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with NADCAP requirements and updating controlling manufacturing documents. The candidate will also operate and troubleshoot the wastewater treatment process for the Erie Facility.
This individual will work within the manufacturing engineering team to support current manufacturing processes and methods. They will collaborate with other engineering and support personnel to develop and improve manufacturing processes, enhance efficiencies, and support lean and cost-saving initiatives.
+ Safely operate in a chemical lab and production environment, ensuring that safety protocols are followed by all personnel. Identify safety improvements through the near-hit card program.
+ Assist the manufacturing engineer with various activities as required and lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Ensure all processes, records, and activities comply with internal quality standards and NADCAP specifications.
+ Operate the wastewater treatment system and coordinate waste removal.
+ Perform various process operations, including titrations of chemical baths and adjustments to maintain optimal tank concentrations.
+ Maintain accurate records of tests performed.
+ Maintain lab equipment and coordinate with contracted firms to ensure equipment preventive maintenance (PM) and certifications are current.
+ Prepare various chemical solutions for testing or production purposes.
+ Conduct periodic testing, such as salt fog chamber specimens.
+ Perform other laboratory testing and tasks as required.
Mandatory Requirements:
+ High school graduate with strong aptitude in math.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
+ Good oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to work with limited supervision once trained.
+ Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
+ Ability to work safely in a chemical processing environment.
Non-Mandatory Requirements:
+ Prior chemical laboratory or chemical metal processing experience.
+ Familiarity with chemical titrations and safe laboratory practices.
This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
