Join us as we digitally connect the world and shape the future. **The Role** The Operations Technician (Network Operation Center Environment) will work in a challenging, hands on environment supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other specialized customers in support of National Cyber Protection System (NCPS) initiatives. **The Main Responsibilities** Directly interfaces with Government customers, vendors, subcontractors, and other company groups • Produces Implementation Packages for OSP installations • Follows SOWs, Method of Procedures (MOPs), test and acceptance plans using corporate standards, best commercial practices and customer site standards • Designs, fabricates, modifies, and evaluates equipment and devices • Design site cable paths and conveyances • Assists with installations of developed solutions • Provides assistance for ISP and OSP installation teams • May oversee subcontractors, materials, tools and equipment to complete projects on schedule and within budget • Communicate verbally with construction subcontractors regarding proper procedures for placement of outside cable plant. Provide interpretation of plans, detail sheets, and specification for subcontractors and inspectors. • Make running line changes in accordance with (IAW) local regulations (e.g., city, county, state, railroads). Analyze Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) traces, evaluate characteristics of fiber, and document test results. Handle complex engineering assignments and interface with OSP installers, locators, project managers, inspectors, and permit authorities to complete comprehensive packages with sufficient detail to allow future use in maintenance and new construction activities. • Understands and adheres to Federal, customer site and company policies and practices • Must be proficient in optical fiber splicing, to include ribbon fiber • Performs testing with OTDRs, Optical Powers Meters and other optical test equipment • Updates network drawings using MS Visio and other software-based applications • Works with engineers and installation technicians in the field during installations • Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card • Position requires extensive travel **What We Look For in a Candidate** + This position requires the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. + Work experience (6 years experience in telecommunications O&M, installation, and engineering) + Ability to interpret and analyze fiber optic charactization data + Knowledge of optical dispersion and experience with dispersion testing + Ability to redline as-built drawings and update + Ability to present customer information on project status in various forms such as MS Power Point briefings and MS Project schedules + Knowledge of telecommunications installations standards required + Knowledge of telecommunications test equipment, operation, procedures, and practices + Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information + US Citizenship required **Compensation** This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
