The Operations Technician will support the Pasadena SMR and 1 Satellite location (Compressor for Phillips). The role will incorporate a rotating 10-hour schedule day shift only. Advantages of the site include experience gained from multiple sites and gaining exposure to processes by interacting with multidisciplinary functional groups.

The Pasadena Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) facility produces hydrogen for customers supplied via pipeline. This facility is an integral part of Air Products’ Gulf Coast hydrogen pipeline system, which spans from Pasadena, TX to New Orleans, LA.

Responsibilities:

Participation in basic safety principles that are part of the site’s overall safety performanceIssuance of safety work permits and performance of lock-out/tag-out of various process equipmentProvide day-to-day plant operations for support of syngas production and attainment of reliability targetsInteract with plant personnel and other functional groups to maintain mechanical equipment through preventative maintenance or repairs, instrument calibration and electrical troubleshootingParticipate in planning and execution of major to minor shutdowns. Provide technical support and hands-on-support as required during shutdownsCapable of aiding in TAR (Turnaround) requests at other Air Products facility if necessaryPromote safety rules and regulations by following Operating ProceduresAttention-to-detail is key to complete work at the highest possible standard.Apply Continuous Improvement philosophy to daily tasks to maintain an accurate execution of daily tasksInspect all work areas for mechanical issues, safety hazards and unusual operating conditions. Keep work and supply areas safe, clean and in an orderly manner

Qualifications/Requirements:

High School Diploma/GEDCertificate in process technology or maintenance field (preferred) or 2 years minimum in a manufacturing/production, processing or chemical/ petrochemical environment.Participants in Skills USA are encouraged to applyMust be a self-starter and willing to work aloneStrong instrument and electrical proficiency is desiredBasic Computer Proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Be able to meet call-in requirements as neededElevated work required
