You Role:

As an Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible leading the daily production performance of the production area along with the other Operators of the production team. You will assure optimum operation of equipment by maintaining full compliance with operating instructions and Company policies and procedures as well as assuring the safe and environmentally compliant operation of the production processes. As the Operations Supervisor you will assist Management in establishing performance, job skill, environmental and safety expectations for their areas of responsibility within the Production Department. The Operations Supervisor will also have the responsibility, when assigned by the Operations Manager /Site Director, to oversee any on-the-job training for the Operator I, Operator II, and Operator III classifications.  

 

Assure safe and environmentally compliant operation of the production processes with technical knowledge in the area of responsibilities and provide assistance to other shift members by performing normal operator duties. These include day to operations (running reactors, SIA columns, batch adjustments & packing out)Assist Management with skills improvements for Production OperatorsSupport of process performance analysis and improvements, responsible for monthly and yearly performance reviews. Maintain technical data bases as requested by Production Management and provide technical guidance to the team membersProvide on-the-job training to the Operator I, Operator II and Operator III classifications as requested by Production ManagementPerform all required SAP entries and transactions as required by Production ManagementFollow all training and complete all permits as needed to issue Work, Hot Work and confined Space Entry Permits. Lock-Out /Tag-Out, to provide assurance work can be completed in a safe environmentCoordinate coverage for personnel absences with Management Approval to ensure adequate staffingReview and update Daily Status report to provide detailed instructions of production status during shift turnovers and verify and update that procedures used are best practices and are in line with written WIs and SOPs

 

Physical Attributes:

Work (12-14 hours) on a rotating shift schedule on a regular basisWork at times in extreme climates (high/low temperatures and humidity)Climb stairs, ladders and walk long distances during the workdayMove and handle heavy objects with appropriate equipmentWill have annual physical associated with material handling and PPE usage

 

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED3+ years of chemical operator manufacturing process experience in a continuous operations environment (24/7 rotating shift work)1+ years’ experience in Microsoft Office Suite with specific emphasis on Excel and Word1+ years of basic math coursework completed 6+ months Forklift experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication, organizational and analytical skills who can function effectively in a team environmentA bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry or other similar Science discipline, or an associate degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, or other similar Science discipline with 1+ years chemical operator manufacturing experience in a continuous operations environment (24/7 rotating shift work)3+ years in a leadership role with ability to lead and supervise other employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentStatistical Process Control experience  CPR and First Aid certificationExposure to Lean Six Sigma and ISO certification
