Operations Specialist
Description We are looking for a dedicated Operations Specialist to join our logistics team in Long Beach, California. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing customs processes, ensuring timely shipment releases, and delivering exceptional customer service to key accounts. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. Responsibilities: • Handle the accurate preparation and transmission of customs entries for assigned accounts. • Maintain a thorough understanding of Partner Government Agency regulations and compliance. • Review and classify products according to established customs guidelines. • Monitor shipment documentation and ensure timely submission for customs release. • Provide proactive communication and solutions to resolve customs holds, examinations, or delays. • Track and trace shipments, coordinating with airlines, freight forwarders, and trucking companies to ensure smooth delivery processes. • Offer advisory services on regulatory classifications and compliance requirements to business partners. • Collaborate with customers to address and resolve issues impacting shipment clearance or delivery. • Assist in engineering client-specific solutions to enhance operational efficiency. • Promote additional business opportunities and contribute to the overall growth of the company. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in operations, preferably within the logistics or customs brokerage industry. • Proficiency in Cargowise and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. • Strong understanding of customs regulations, including 19CFR and CBP processes. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with high-level clients and stakeholders. • Reliable and detail-oriented with a focus on delivering quality results. • Familiarity with FDA GMP and related compliance standards. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
