Operations Specialist, Pharmacy Programs (12 Month Contract)

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Programs Operations Specialist plays a critical role in managing and optimizing pharmacy program initiatives. This position involves coordinating new initiative activities, ensuring compliance with patient support or manufacturer requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across various stakeholders. They will be instrumental in driving project success and supporting the continuous improvement of pharmacy program operations.


 

Specific Responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities generally include but are not limited to the following:

Manage day-to-day operations for multiple pharmacy programs, including invoicing, KPI accountability, and data insights.Assist in the design of new pharmacy programs based on market needs and business objectives.  This role demands a forward-thinking approach to integrate seamlessly into our existing Specialty Pharmacy infrastructure while fostering collaboration across multiple teams including Specialty Pharmacies, Kroll Central Maintenance team, National Billing team, and senior leaders.Improve pharmacy program operations through the implementation of standardized pharmacy program operations, services and technological solutionsCollaborate with program managers and/or manufacturer clients to identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.Lead new pharmacy program and pharmacy related patient support program projects and build understanding and consensus among teamsLead all privacy impact assessments (PIA) related to pharmacy programs, including all necessary documentation and execution of PIA recommendationsAddress client requests and case escalations, coordinate internal resources and communicate to external stakeholdersDevelop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all pharmacy programs, including policies, procedures, work instructions and training materials.Provide guidance and support to internal staff and external partners on program-related issues.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations related to pharmacy programsExecute timely pharmacy program invoicing, including pharmacy program billing validation, creating pharmacy program billing inputs, sales order approvals, PO management, and invoice back-up submissionsConduct data quality checks of pharmacy program reports received from Quebec participating pharmacies to ensure data integrity and accuracyManage pharmacy program accounts receivable and budget reconciliationMonitor performance metrics for each program and develop strategies to address any underperforming areas.Stay updated on industry trends related to pharmacy programsProvide insights and reports on billing trends, system performance, financial impact of pharmacy program initiatives, and operational efficiencies to business partners and senior management.Support pharmacy system changes, such as CRM updates and user testing related to change requests, to drive technological capabilities, improve user experience, and advance pharmacy workflowAct as a resource for colleagues and business partners within Specialty Health; may direct the work of others without formal management responsibilitiesExplain the on-going status of pharmacy program project plans and services through the preparation of monthly management reports, including clear communication of risks and milestones with both internal and external stakeholdersEnsure company policies and standards are at the forefront of all activities and decisions.The Operations Project Specialist reports to the Director of Pharmacy Strategy and performs all duties in a pharmacy setting. As a result, the roles are subject to all confidentiality and privacy requirements that apply in a pharmacy setting.

Key Requirements:

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.At least 5 years of experience within a healthcare setting.Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and regulatory requirements.Strong knowledge of Patient Support Programs services and the Specialty landscape.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Advanced knowledge in performing data analysis using Excel, Access, or related tools.Knowledge of the pharmacy industry, pharmacy practice principles, pharmacy operations, and patient support programs.The ability to analyze complex problems, think critically, and propose innovative solutions is essential in this role

Communication: PSP, Manufacturers, INVIVA, Pharmacy, Auditors, Compliance & Legal team, Finance team, Management team

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$89,700 - $149,500
