Operations Risk Specialist

We are seeking a talented individual to join our US Investment Solutions team at Mercer. This role will can be based in New York City, Boston, King of Prussia, or St. Louis, and offers a hybrid work arrangement requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.

As an Operations Risk Specialist, you will support the Risk Manager and play an important part in strengthening the first line risk function and contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of the risk management program of US Investment business. You’ll collaborate with various teams to improve risk practices, analyze data to support risk reporting, and other risk management initiatives, assist with audits and compliance reviews, and help develop training and workshops. We will count on you to:

Assist in facilitating the incident management process, following up on status update, collaborating with the business teams to ensure remediation, and preparing management reports as needed.Provide administrative support on Operational Risk Committee and risk related reporting.Assist business teams on process and procedure documentation, which should capture the controls pertaining to key processes.Participate in development of risk/control workshops and training.Conduct periodic review of control inventories, support business colleagues challenging and educating the effectiveness of these control inventories.Maintain documentation of risk management processes and procedures.Support the business to undergo Compliance monitoring reviews / internal auditsProvide support to other risk related projects or ad hoc requests

What you need to have: 

Bachelor's degree3+ years’ experience in audit, internal controls, and/or complianceExperience with project managementGood time management and organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skillsExhibit good attention to details while focused on deliveryGood analytical skills

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,000 to $108,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
