The **Operations Project Leader – Strategic Business Modeling** leads development and deployment of key operations-wide, strategic initiatives. The Operations Project Leader within this strategic team leads and directs cross-functional team members throughout the project(s) which typically have a 6-18mo. duration. This position will be responsible for creating and analyzing complex financial and business models to support multiple projects simultaneously. Candidates will need to have clear attention to detail, as well as to employ a strong project management skillset and financial acumen. They will need to be able to distill complex models and scenarios into clear, persuasive business cases for cross-functional audiences. Additionally, this position will be an integral part of the strategic planning process for the company's operations. Many of the projects will be strategic in nature and highly visible across the organization, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
This position is a fundamental part of our team located in a fast-paced environment within our downtown Milwaukee location and supporting manufacturing locations globally. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with proven “big picture” vision, problem solving abilities, an analytical mindset and change management experience, including well-rounded work experience in operations, supply chain, project management, financial analysis, and execution of new product development (operations-focused).
**You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:**
+ Evaluate and improve supply chain design related to the resolution of challenges associated with cost, material disruptions, manufacturing process, geopolitical or supplier risk and or logistics.
+ Frame up and facilitate multiple “what-if” scenarios and tradeoff discussions to find best solution to achieve future state. Well-rounded understanding of financial impacts of these scenarios, and the ability to provide recommendations on best path forward.
+ Capability to quickly establish credibility with different business units, influence project teams and persuade professionals at all levels.
+ Develop and execute project plans using strong project management skills. Develop project charters and governance documents. Drive accountability for team to successfully complete tasks.
+ Develop and review financial models to support qualitative and quantitative analysis for purposes including strategic planning, scenario planning, and key business decisions.
+ Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
+ Track upfront project schedule to ensure adherence to timelines; keep team and management informed of project issues. Identify and mitigate project risks & implements risk reduction plans. Escalate as appropriate.
+ Establish appropriate metrics and report on progress, achievements, and results. This includes executive level reporting, management updates, and best practice sharing throughout the organization.
+ Determines appropriate level of stress testing to place on project improvement initiative to prove reliability of improvement or change. Works with business to develop these test plans and methodologies.
+ Ensure changes are fully implemented through follow-up communication, perseverance, and consistency.
+ Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project plans
+ Periodic travel required up to 25%+.
**What TOOLS you'll bring with you:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent years of directly related experience in Operations or Lean/Continuous Improvement roles.
+ Minimum 7+ years related experience.
+ Analytical approach to problem solving with strong attention to detail and ability to dig deep to understand the business.
+ Previous facilitator and coaching experiences where problem solving, process development and/or behavior change methods and tools have been used.
+ Advanced level of Excel and data analysis skills with experience building financial or statistical models from scratch.
+ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
+ Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
+ Advanced project management skills or training.
**Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:**
+ Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Previous experience using Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization software.
+ Success in managing multiple, complex projects and changing priorities, making sound decisions, and working effectively in a matrix environment.
+ Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills in an executive setting.
+ Track record of success with cross functional teams, driving change and implementing new processes.
+ International work experience and exposure.
+ Effective written and oral communication skills, ability to establish rapport and credibility.
+ Innovative problem solver who resolves issues and challenges with strong sense of urgency.
