Our client, a Big 5 bank, is currently seeking a Wealth Operations Officer (Anti-Money Laundering) to join their team in Markham, ON! This role is hybrid 2-4 days a week on-site in Markham, ON. Reason for the opening: upcoming busy season The team: This role sits within the regulatory team. They deal with forms such as W8 and W9 forms. Our client works with clients and help them open brokerage accounts with their firm. The IRS has regulations passed, where if any of our banks clients have any ties to the US, the IRS wants to withhold taxes for them. In 2017, other countries were added to that as well and want the same thing. So our client needs to know the residency for all their clients. Any time there is changes in circumstances for their clients, they need to inform the bank. There are forms that they need to submit (W8 and W9) to inform the bank of these changes. The customers submit forms to this team if any changes in their residency. The team then reviews the forms and make sure they are completed properly and that the forms are correct. Depending on the type of the account (Estates, trust, incorporation) it will require different forms. So this person needs to know what type of forms are required. Work is assigned through a third vendor where documents get faxed to the team. So the requests get faxed over through electronic imaging. They then pull those documents and work through them. They don't deal with clients directly. They have the front line people (advisors) who connect with clients directly. If they need to talk to the client, they reach out to internal partners. They have a tool that measures your performance. It measures your activity and gives you a score. This is an SLA driven environment. Qualifications 1) Open to new graduates with interest in regulatory/ AML/ FS 2) Preferred - 6+ months of banking experience within operations 3) Strong MS Office skills (Intermediate Excel: Basic spread manipulation, Pivot tables) 4) strong analytical skills NICE TO HAVE: AML, FATCA knowledge Work Environment Hybrid Model: 4 days in office as of November 3rd No long vacations planned (Nothing over a week). Working hours: 9-5pm Business professional attire - no ripped jeans, sweatshirts, yoga pants etc. Duration: 12 month contract to start with opportunity of extension OR conversion to permanent Pay: $22- $23/hr Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
