Operations Manager - Fixed Route
Description

Operations Manager The Operations Manager reports directly to the General Manager in fulfilling daily operations including but not limited to route supervision, staff and operator supervision, effective communication with internal and external customers and coaching employees for optimal performance, managing the entire operation in the absence of the General Manager, complying with all Company policies and managing the operation within the budgetary plan for the location. The above represents the standard Corporate Policy Key Responsibilities: Supervises daily activities of all operators and coordinates the activities of supervisors and dispatch personnel.Oversees scheduling of operators; monitors operations and coordinates delivery of service with superiors.Works closely with the maintenance department to ensure that all operation service requirements are met.Track, compile and analyze performance; handle interdepartmental issues; resolve employee issues and grievances; improve processes and route scheduling. Makes hiring decisions for authorized roles; evaluates the work performance of staff; ensures the timely and efficient completion of all assigned tasks.Assists in accident/incident investigation, including any needed on-site assistance and support to safety and training personnel.Provides passenger assistance to drivers.Coordinates with departmental managers to address roadside problems.Prepares and maintains reports and performs clerical activities associated with operations.Coordinates with the safety and training department to ensure all safety goals and directives are met.Able to communicate with operators in a clear professional manner.Communicate clearly with the Transdev management and the client accordinglyCommunicate clearly and professionally with passengers and  help answer phones if neededCreate diver alerts and updates.Stay and help during natural disasters like hurricanes.Help create hurricane and employee handbooks.May be assigned to attend meetings with the client to represent GM or other functional managersProvides passenger assistance to drivers.Coordinates with departmental managers to address roadside problems.Prepares and maintains reports and performs clerical activities associated with operations.Develop Operations department budget.Documents employee actions within established guidelinesMay operate a vehicle in revenue service, if necessary.Other duties as required.Travel requirement outside of immediate area 10%Maintains routine records and performs a variety of clerical work activities related to the property operationEmbraces Transdev’s safety vision; adopts and employs the company’s safety rules, policies, and procedures; effectively communicates safety and on time service expectations to drivers.Embraces Transdev’s safety vision; adopts and employs the company’s safety rules, policies, and procedures; effectively communicates safety and on time service expectations to drivers.Documents employee actions within established guidelinesMaintains high degree of confidentiality of all informationAll other duties as assignedFill in for the General Manager when he is not available. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, requiredClass B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger endorsement and Air brake endorsement required or the ability to obtain oneAbility to apply progressive coaching and discipline consistently, timely and in accordance with the terms of collective bargaining agreements.3 or more years of relevant transit supervisory experience requiredAbility to apply progressive coaching and discipline consistently, timely and in accordance with the terms of collective bargaining agreements.Able to operate the following programs.Lytx/angeltrax – Camera software to track accidents and incidents on the vehicle.Optibus/Run cutting software – Software to help develop fixed route schedules, paddles, supervisor guides.Jobvite – Software used to hire new employees. VDS – Software used to track work schedules for employees.Lyft Concierge – used to book Lyft ridesMicrosoft Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointGood written and oral communication skillsAbility to organize and perform work efficiently, strong attention to detailsAbility to work effectively with labor; may include labor grievances and negotiationsMust be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
