Operations Manager - Avon, MA. (1st Shift)

Manage the warehouse’s operational activities including budgeting, labor scheduling, space and equipment, safety and security, housekeeping, and sanitation. Ensure people, process and technology enable meeting all customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, train, and develop a high-performing team by assigning responsibilities, providing feedback, and ensuring overall productivity and efficiency.

Drive continuous improvement in daily operations, including shipment verification, merchandise handling, disposition, and inventory accuracy.

Collaborate closely with Sales, Inventory Control, and Operations Support teams to ensure optimal product availability and workflow.

Forecast and plan long-term labor needs based on sales trends and management input.

Achieve key operational goals by meeting company-defined KPIs related to cost, productivity, customer satisfaction, profitability, and team performance.

Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations—fostering a culture of safety across the facility.

Review and analyze operational reports to identify trends, resolve issues, and recommend performance-enhancing solutions.

Build strong, cross-functional partnerships with departments such as Finance, HR, Sales, and Continuous Improvement to support overall business objectives.

Additional Responsibilities

Operate and work around warehouse machinery and material handling equipment as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse operations or warehouse management.

Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Proven leadership and team development skills, with a focus on employee engagement, customer service, communication, and planning.

Ability to effectively present information and interact with customers, clients, and internal teams.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

Willingness and ability to work in varying temperature environments:

Cold storage: as low as -20°F / -25°C

Dry storage: up to 100°F / 37°C

Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs (18 kg); weight requirements may vary by facility.

Flexible to work various shifts and schedules, including weekends, as business needs require.

Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels, which may be loud at times.
