Job Description
The Operations Manager plans, coordinates, and controls the production activities toward the achievement of established Operations objectives. Responsible for the design, operation, and improvement of multiple manufacturing cells within the system that creates and delivers products, with responsibility for the safe and timely delivery of superior quality products at controlled cost levels.
Responsibilities:
Prioritize and coordinate production activities and to achieve Operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including (but not limited to) Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) metricsDevelop themselves and their team through Ensign-Bickford Operating System (EBOS) tools, and foster training and professional development of teamEnsure clarity around priorities and goals for their areaManage daily schedule of production activities, to include optimal resource coordination (material and labor) to ensure production schedule is metDrive efficient and effective execution of policies and procedures utilizing lean production processes and a continuous improvement mindsetPartner with other Operations personnel, as well as other areas of the business as needed, to drive inventory strategy that minimizes inventory costs while maintaining customer service levelsManage the implementation and visual management of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity metrics to minimize costs and enhance efficiencyProactively manage and implement future space requirements, capital equipment, and staffing needsFollow established safe work practices and work in a safe mannerRequirements:
B.S. in Engineering or Operations plus 5+ Years in Operation ManagementStrong quantitative and analytical skillsDemonstrated technical decision-making skills, including a strong ability to use data and root cause analysis to drive resultsExcellent attention to detail and be able to set high standards for qualityExperience in creative problem solving, with proven resultsStrong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teamsAbility to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively under pressureDemonstrated ability to improve processes using a continuous improvement approachIn-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, ERP systems, Kanban / Material Replenishment Systems, resource planning, and cost controlAbility to develop innovative initiatives to enhance internal efficiency and effectivenessIs a self-starter who takes initiativeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsIn-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft ExcelPreferred Skills:
