Your role and responsibilitiesMission Statement:Oversees the operational aspects of a local unit (s), encompassing the full scope of Operations, including project management and control, project engineering, manufacturing, production engineering, maintenance, procurement, quality, continuous improvement, logistics, and planning and fulfillment, or a part of that. Ensures strict adherence within the operations with respect to policies and required health, safety, and integrity standards.Main Accountabilities:•\tResponsible for developing business action plans for the unit(s), aligned with business area/division/product group strategy and targets.•\tMonitors plan implementation and tracks any deviations for corrective action.•\tPrepares annual budget, oversees progress, and determines measures to address cost-related issues as necessary, to manage operations within the allocated budget and resources.•\tDevelops programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.•\tEnsures that the organization takes into account an overall value chain perspective to meet customer expectations as per agreed quality, service levels, and lead time.•\tEnsures a thorough understanding and fosters a culture of continuous improvement behaviors, methodology, and processes within the organization.•\tAssesses risks and safety hazards and implements plans to ensure people and equipment safety.•\tProvides support to Sales staff to improve their understanding of customer requirements, enabling them to identify potential constraints and proposes solutions from an operational point of view.LICENSE TO OPERATE / CORE VALUES•\tMaintains compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while monitoring and reporting progress and results.•\tEnsures all staff (under scope) understand ABB’s core values and group safety and integrity standards and act accordingly.•\tImplements and ensures compliance with the ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies, and processes in their assigned area.•\tEnsures adherence to all internal and statutory regulations and policies pertaining to the teams in scope.•\tEnsures integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities across all teams in scope.•\tAccountable for the health and safety of all employees and contractors for the teams in scope, and continuous improvement in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) processes and integrity performance.COLLABORATION / LEADERSHIP •\tCreates and maintains a positive work environment for ABB.•\tPromotes and enables collaboration in the division, across divisions, business areas, and teams to maximize results for ABB.•\tProvides guidance to the teams and seeks knowledge for their own development and coaching/mentoring of the teams.•\tManages relationships with stakeholders in their own area of responsibility and ensures alignment.•\tEnsures that their own area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed.•\tInspires, guides, motivates, and develops direct and indirect reports within HR policies.•\tBuilds effective, competent, and high-performing teams.•\tReviews organizational effectiveness and performs competence assessments and continuous skill upgrades.
Qualifications for the role\tBachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, operations management or relevant experience.\t10+ years of experience in operations management and business leadership.\tExperience in industrial automation, energy, power and water and oil and gas industries.\tUnderstanding of refinery operations, upstream/downstream processes, and pipeline management.\tExperience in power plant operations (thermal, nuclear, renewable plants)\tFamiliarity with ISO standards, environmental regulations, and predictive maintenance technologies.\tStrong strategic planning, problem-solving abilities and operational efficiency.\tEffective communication with stakeholders, government agencies, and technical teams.\tChange management and adaptability in evolving energy markets.\tBudgeting, cost control and financial acumen.\tExperience in managing partnerships.\tAbility to mentor and develop teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.\tProven expertise in process optimization, asset management, and regulatory compliance.\tFamiliar with HSE regulations, API standards, and asset integrity management.\tUS Citizen or work authorization to perform work within the US is required.Dimensions:\tReports to: US LD manager \tDirect Reports: Oversees project management, Field Service, Supply Chain and Engineering.\tGeographical Scope: US-wide responsibility\tAnnual revenues: 290M \tDecision-Making Authority: Strategic planning, End-to-End Operations Mgt., Resource Mgt., & Capacity Planning, Quality Assurance, Customer Satisfaction\tStakeholders: Internal teams (Operations, Sales, Supply Chain), Customers, and Regional Leadership
