Summary Job title: Operations Director Job ID: 202532900008 Department: Indianapolis - APE Location: IN-Indianapolis Description Summary: Your primary role and responsibility is to own and manage the day-to-day operations and assist in the overall strategy of the Profit Center. You must aid in helping to reduce overall costs (both hard and soft) while allowing the Profit Center to invest and grow. In this role, you are helping to manage the bottom line of the P+L and assist the Profit Center Manager as a key member of their leadership staff. CED’s Ethical Business Practices As a senior leader in our business, you are expected to set the standard of business activity, communication, and professionalism for all personnel within and outside of CED. All employees of CED are expected to follow CED’s Standard Practice Instructions, code of ethics, and business practices. This includes, but is not limited to, adhering to the Limited Distribution Model with Rockwell Automation. Key Performance Indicators While data metrics are important, they are not the sole driver of your performance. As mentioned above, your goal is to help drive and contribute to a growing and healthy profit center. + Inventory control and turns + Service Level + W/O and Reserves as a percentage of sales + A/R and A/P days + Operating Expenses + Process Improvements to reduce manual processes and/or the number of steps required. + Inventory Accuracy + Pricing Efficiencies + Logistical efficiencies and processes All of these metrics should help contribute to an upper quartile performing PC with Profit Sharing as a percentage of GP that continues to improve year over year. Communication/Leadership: You are to set the bar and high standard for excellent communication and performance within the organization. Leadership should be by your example through action, coaching/teaching, and work output. Communication should always be timely, professional, thorough, and proper regardless of how communication is being received or transmitted. Reports to: Profit Center Manager Minimum Qualifications: + College Degree + 5 Years in Supply Chain or Warehouse Management preferred + Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle, and have a driving record, which meets the company standards + Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing Preferred Qualifications: + College Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or equivalent + Experience in Supply Chain Management + Experience in Accounting + Experience in Personnel Management + Experience in Transportation Management ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES: + Effectively use and implement time management systems. + Capacity to multitask, to be organized and consistent Working Conditions: + In office in Indianapolis, IN + There will be some Warehouse activity + Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time + Ability to lift 40lbs Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes Essential Job Functions: + Lead and Manage the PC from an operational standpoint, and – in the absence of the PC Manager, make decisions that are consistent with the current business practices. + Work with CED Personnel to properly serve accounts and grow profitable market share. + Research Sales Registers, Credit Memos, Quotes, etc. + Assist in credit and/or other accounting related issues. + Sell cost effective alternative materials and/or solutions. + Actively participate and contribute during trainings, meetings, etc. + Lead and manage credit reviews with team and the credit manager. + Implement and lead technology improvements + Ensure the safety and compliance of the warehouse, office, and delivery vehicles Including but not limited to + DOT Compliance + OSHA Compliance + Lead and manage the annual inventory and processes both “pre” and “post.” + Assist in hiring personnel for various roles in conjunction with the PC. + Lead and maintain PC Trainings on compliance, processes, etcetera that are implemented and/or managed by you. + Be the liaison between sales and operations to provide the best customer experience including, but not limited to: + Customer Portal setup + Customer VMI/Storeroom + Billing procedures and operations + Services and Software processes with the team and customers + Pricing CED is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability | Veteran Other Compensation: The following additional compensation may be applicable for this position: + Commission + Profit Sharing Benefits: Benefits available for this position are: + Insurance - Medical, Dental, Vision Care for full-time positions + Disability Insurance + Life Insurance + 401(k) + Paid Sick Leave + Paid Holidays + Paid Vacation + Health Savings Account (HSA) and matching + Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) + Teledoc + Paid Pregnancy & New Parent Leave
