Operations Director

Job Description:

Position SummaryReporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Director is responsible for the operational aspects of Newton site encompassing production, supply chain, HSE, and warehouse functions.Duties & Responsibilities:Provide leadership and direction to the operations teamsOversee day to day operations of the production facility & financial aspects of the operations in line with budgetsDevelop and maintain best practices and production efficiencies in line with the broader Terex Business Systems using lean techniquesPromote a culture of continuous improvement & strive towards best practice world class manufacturingImprove the capabilities & capacity of the manufacturing unit, achieving on-time delivery & cost targetsEfficiently integrate new products into productionLead, develop & motivate staff towards the achievement of targets & objectives on an ongoing basisAct as an integral part of the sites S&OP process to ensure common understanding of capacity, build schedule and supply constraintsCollate and provide all management reports as requested to both site management and the wider Terex Materials Processing groupProvide relevant information and detail on an annual basis for the factory budgeting process in conjunction with the Financial ControllerEnsure timely and relevant communication with all relevant departments in the businessesEnsure full compliance of entire team with site policies, procedures and HSE regulationsCooperate with the wider Terex Materials Processing Group in relation to the implementation of manufacturing strategies and other relevant dutiesDevelop department strategies, business plans, and implement schedule to achieve goalsConduct manager performance reviews and manage expectationsOversee department’s overall performance and hold team accountable for meeting expectationsEnsure compliance to safety and all Company policiesManage conflicts and provide solutionsOther duties as assignedSkills and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree is highly preferred5+ years’ experience in a leadership positionA proven track record of operational achievement in a manufacturing environment is essentialBackground of managing a fast moving manufacturing facility (preferably engineering) including supply chain & Warehouse functionsExperience of and a proven track record of staff management, appraisal & development of teamsA strong motivator with excellent communication skills,Proven track record of consistently meeting financial targetsAbility to motivate and lead a teamExcellent communication & IT skillsDrive and energy for resultsPractical and commercially awareFlexible in approach and hard workingBusiness acumenStrategic ability and innovativeAbility to prioritise and organiseTimely decision makingAbility to work in an environment that is fluid with changing prioritiesHighest level of integrity, honesty, and trust
