Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Motion Metrics Global Head, the Director of Operations oversees all manufacturing: global field service and support; safety, health, and environment (SHE); sourcing; planning; procurement; warehousing; continuous improvement and facilities management.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture for you and your team.Leadership: Direct leadership and owner of Motion Metrics operations and team management. Manages the Motion Metrics Operations function, which includes, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Global Services.Business Performance Management: Accountable for Motion Metrics performance metrics, for manufacturing, sourcing and purchasing, global services, and SHE. Manage and report on the performance of Motion Metrics Operations and set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these.P&L: Achieves financial objectives by forecasting needs, preparing a budget, and managing expenditures.Strategy & Planning: Sets and implements the Motion Metrics Operations Strategy including contingency planning for unexpected and sometimes complex issues. Ensure the strategy is successfully communicated and adopted by our team.Stakeholder Management: Identify and manage stakeholders, finding their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.  These groups include regional sales and service teams, R&D, products and operations.Resilience: Support customers and teams in high pressure, customer-facing mining environments, where equipment damage is common.  Provide great service while managing customer expectations (internal and external customers), when appropriate.  Often act as face of WMM in front of customers.

​Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or similar applicable field from a four-year college or university.Ten years of progressive experience in business industry, operations, manufacturing, or technical sales leadership is required. Substantial P&L responsibility.​​Balance between process and flexibility – WMM is in the process of scaling.  While we’ve built standard processes in some areas, in others, flexibility and agility are still the key to success.  A successful Operations Director will be able to strike a balance between disciplined process execution and pragmatic flexibility as circumstances require.Must have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing manufacturing operations strategy—ability to effectively read and understand detailed financial statements. Must have a  demonstrated ability to share and engage others in the vision of the business. Strong analytical skills and the ability to create short, mid, and long-term strategies. Must be results-oriented and demonstrate the ability to meet critical metrics.

Compensation: Ranges from CAD $150,000 to $190,000 (depending on fit)
