Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Donna Head Child Development Center, Air Force Academy, Colorado. *Position is Not To Exceed (NTE) 30 January 2026 Department of the Air Force Child & Youth Programs Employee Child Care Discount applicable to this position: 1st Child - 100% Free Childcare 2nd Child - 37% Employee Discount USAFA Commissary Privileges Responsibilities Oversees the administrative management of the reception area of a Child Development or Youth Program. Receives children, youth, parents, and other visitors in a courteous manner. Answers main telephone, ascertains nature of call and directs caller to appropriate staff, takes a message or personally provides desired information. Utilizes the Child and Youth Program Business Modernization System (CYPBMS) to oversee the collection, accurate accounting and reporting of funds; and to collect and maintain up-to-date statistical data for planning and reporting purposes IA W higher headquarters and statutory requirements. Utilizes CYPBMS and other electronic programs/tools to compute and record individual transactions for customers and to enter data into predefined categories for regulatory compliance, signed statistical reports and tracking of income data as it pertains to the program. Provides administrative support including typing/word processing, mail preparation, copying, distribution, telephone calls, and monitor staff to child ratios, conduct hourly accountability, complete USDA paperwork, maintain medication documents, administer medication and prescribed and provide customer service support. Using office automation equipment and word processing software, prepares a variety of correspondence, memorandums, briefings and Daily Activity and other reports required for day-to·day operations. Refers to agency regulations, flip charts, dictionaries, and other typical office reference materials to ensure proper format, grammatical accuracy, and correct spelling. Maintains records, files, statistical data, and suspense systems IAW regulatory requirements and disposition schedules. Prepares invoices, supply and equipment requests. Uses e-mail to send and retrieve messages. Understands and articulates policies relating to patron fees, waiting lists and program events, and registers patrons appropriately. Communicate with enrollment clerks to track program vacancies and occupancy rates as required. Ensures risk management procedures (i.e., abuse prevention, identification, and reporting procedures; accident prevention, etc.) are followed. Monitors supplies and resources. Maintains time and attendance cards. Performs other related duties as required. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age, hold a high school diploma (or equivalent) and must speak, read, and write English. Applicant must have experience in responsible clerical or office work in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Possess the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Skill in operating a manual or electric typewriter and current automation system and software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Power Point, Excel) required. Must be able to type 40 wpm.- Experience which has demonstrated arithmetic aptitude and ability, accuracy and attention to detail; responsible experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody, or other processing of cash and cash items. Must satisfactorily complete Tl background, State Criminal History Repository Check (SCHRC), and Installation Records Check (IRC). Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical and maintain current immunizations. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
