Purpose
Support and ensure seamless client execution, clearing, processing and settlement of precious metal transactions for Scotia Wealth Management(SWM) clients. Deliver exceptional customer service, maintain operational efficiencies and uploading compliance with internal procedures and industry regulations. Serves as a crucial link between SWM Advisors and clients, trade desks and external partners to facilitate a high quality precious metals trading experience.
Contributes to the overall success of the Contracts and Derivatives Clearing / Canadian Wealth Management Operations in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Main point of contact and maintains the relationship with the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM)
• Subject matter expert on Precious Metals, serve as primary point of Contact for Scotia Wealth Management (SWM) Advisors/teams regarding PM inquiries
• Coordinate the setup and processing of large volumes of serialized precious metal bars, ensuring accurate system entry with compliance protocols
• Perform daily confirmation and clearing of precious metal transactions
• Partner closely with Trade Services group, Retail Precious Metals Trading Desk and SWM advisors in accurately entering and allocating precious metal trade tickets into client accounts
• Collaborate with both internal counterparties and external partners(custodians/vaults) to ensure precious metal positions are accurately reflected in book of record applications. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found
• Travel maybe required
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
