The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our Linux-based systems, ensuring their reliability and performance. This role requires an in-depth understanding of Linux operating systems, network protocols, and cybersecurity principles. Key responsibilities include installing, integrating, and performing test scripts on plant floor technologies. The position involves providing third-level phone and field support, as well as traveling to facilities to install systems, evaluate performance, and ensure all requirements and standards are met. The specialist will offer system training and support during startups, and collaborate with supervisors to direct onsite consultants and vendors. The role also entails maintaining accurate site details, including system compliance test results, system configurations, version control, and training documentation, in accordance with departmental guidelines and standards. The specialist will work cross-functionally to integrate various system components onsite with vendors, consultants, electrical and mechanical contractors, and local teams to meet project objectives regarding system functionality, performance, and reliability. Additionally, the position involves analyzing performance metrics to ensure adherence to performance standards and providing technical support training for local engineers, technicians, and operators. The specialist will facilitate calls from sites to resolve both immediate needs and chronic system issues.
