Operational Risk and Business Enablement Manager

Here, your voice and ideas matter, your work makes an impact, and together, you will help us define the future of American Express. **How will you make an impact in this role?** Responsible for providing support to the Business Unit and will require working closely with stakeholders from Control Management, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Internal Audit Group (IAG) to enable protection and growth for the GMNS business. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual who will be making a difference to the business. + Regulatory Change Management + Serve as PMO and centrally manage regulatory change implementation with regular status reporting + Provide details of project plan & delivery, support Business Unit Project Manager (BUPM) with implementation of project, and capture monthly status updates + Submit BU Project for review with Control Management and closure upon completion of all implementation activity + Audits + Centrally coordinate internal and external audits, respond to queries, own & remediate audit findings + Risk Identification and Assessment + Drive business ownership of Process Risk Self Assessments in line with Enterprise Policy - risk identification & assessments and documentation of controls, periodic review of existing controls and enhancement + Control implementation - Timely testing of controls and remediation + Proactive identification of process improvement opportunities across the business + Track complaints, proactively identify trends and stop recurrence + Support risk assessment of new products as part of the New Products Governance framework + Issues & Events Remediation + Support and consolidate ORE reporting, oversee all International and local issues and events that impact the market + Work with GMNS Control Management and Risk Advisory teams to identify the root cause and align with Control Management + Serve as Action Plan Owner, liaise with the SME of root cause to develop and execute the action plan and provide timely updates to Control Management as required. Consult Risk Advisory team on end-to-end issues and events management process for guidance on risk/regulations and project execution + Gather/upload evidence for issue closure + Process Excellence + Maintain market- or function-specific process documentation + Elevate business conduct efficiencies in a compliant manner + Identify Quality & Oversight stakeholders required to effectively manage cross-business initiatives + Identify and drive process improvement initiatives + Change Management + Support local Business Unit with global risk and compliance-related requirements and projects arising from 2LoD and 3LoD **Minimum Qualifications** + A minimum 10 years’ experience in risk management, business compliance and/ or Internal Audit functions with a proven track record. + Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. + Fluent in English, both written and spoken. **Preferred Qualifications** + Knowledge or experience in the Payment industry will be an advantage. + Solution-driven problem solver with strong business sense acumen and business operations in the Payments industry to enable business growth. + Collaborative and able to work and influence effectively in cross-functional project teams + Self-starter with the ability to understand complex business operations quickly + Experience in at least one of the following: + Performing activities to comply with enterprise policies and programs pertaining to specific risk types + Performing specialized risk types and integration into broader operational risk policies and programs **Qualifications** We back you with benefits that support your holistic well-being so you can be and deliver your best.
