The opportunity:

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Operational Procurement Implementation & CI Manager to lead the implementation of a new procurement organizational structure across North America and drive its continuous improvement post implementation. This role will play a key part in driving alignment, operational excellence, and change management as we modernize our procurement function to better support the business.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:Lead the end-to-end implementation of a new procurement organization across assigned operating locations in North America.Partner with site leadership, procurement team, and regional stakeholders to align on roles, responsibilities, and change impact.Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and deliverables tailored to site-specific needs and readiness.Coordinate cross-functional teams including procurement, HR, legal, finance, and business unit stakeholders.Support communication and change management activities to promote understanding and adoption of the new procurement model.Facilitate workshops, change management sessions, and training to support the new operating model.Identify risks and mitigation strategies to ensure smooth transitions with minimal disruption.Establish metrics to monitor progress, track performance, and report implementation status to leadership.Serve as the main point of contact for project updates, governance reviews, and executive communications.Support Continuous Improvement process to drive standardization, automation, and efficiency of procurement processes. Hold suppliers accountable to deliver on their contractual Continuous Improvement commitments and work with OPEX team to help identify and execute on CI opportunities. 


What you need to succeed:

5+ years of project management experience, preferably in procurement, supply chain, or organizational transformation.Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-regional change initiatives.Strong understanding of procurement operations and organizational design principles.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, engineering, supply chain, or a related field. Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
