**Job Title: Operations Accountant**
**Salary:** Starting from £39,994 (Depending on Experience)
**Location** : Peterlee, Co. Durham

**About Caterpillar Peterlee**
Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat® Articulated Trucks, currently producing an 8-model range used in many industries including mining, construction and aggregates. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology and a state-of-the-art paint plant. Machines from the site are shipped to customers around the world.
**The Opportunity**
The applicant will report to the Operations Accountable Manager to support them as they provide business analysis, financial counsel and strategic planning for the facility. The applicant will also provide additional resource to help the department ensure a successful Mach1 Business Transformation.
The role will be varied in line with the needs of the Accounting Manager, but an outline of the responsibilities are as follows:
**What You Will Do**
+ Support OPACC Improvement Agenda (OIA) operations initiatives through involvement in various Caterpillar Peterlee 2030 Strategy projects.
+ Become owner and point of contact for Hours per Truck reporting, including attendance at weekly HPT OIA meetings led by the senior Production Manager. This also includes quarterly target setting in line with ABP/ RBM and reporting out to the facility and fielding any questions/feedback relating to results.
+ Take ownership of Cash Flow Forecasting process in USD, GBP, and EUR. Drive improvements in process and accuracy, and explain monthly deviations.
+ Help drive Power BI through accountable reporting e.g. monthly department statements.
+ Help improve forecasting and governance on monthly financial results with departmental managers.
+ Support Operations Accountable Manager with month end reporting and ad hoc requests.
+ Become competent in a range of monthly inventory accounting processes to provide backup to inventory accountant and to assist the inventory Mach1 Business Transformation. Specifically related to Finished Truck reporting but may include other month end responsibilities that can be shared to alleviate month-end time pressures.
+ Support month end GRNI/GINR process by carrying out mid-month reviews of reconciling items.
Business Resources Business Transformation
+ Support Departmental As-Is process mapping and data cleansing requirements.
+ Indirect Inventory is a primary concern in this heading
+ Wheel Groups
+ Participate in Blueprinting and help department understand changes and future state requirements/impact.
+ Be part of the change to MACH1 from August onwards as PEGI is phased out and SAP is switched on. Support Operations Accountable Manager in transition by owning processes related to your work and building a reliable To-Be state.

**Financial Reporting:** Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
Level Working Knowledge:
**Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:**
+ Experience of accounting within a manufacturing environment
+ Previous experience of SAP
+ Professional Certification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
+ Experienced user of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
+ Experience of data analytics and visualisation tools such as MS PowerBI, MS PowerApps or Alteryx
**Additional Information:**
+ The role is based on site at Peterlee, 5 days per week.
+ The standard working week is: 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 12:30 Friday.
