Operating Room Nurse OR RN - Per Diem
**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Rotating Shift **Description:** **Position Purpose:** At **Saint Mary’s Hospital** , the Registered Nurse RN in the Operating Room delivers patient care for surgical patients. **What you will do:** + The Registered Nurse RN assumes responsibility for providing patient care to an assigned group of patients, overseeing and coordinating all nursing care in alignment with established standards of practice. + Collaborates seamlessly with colleagues, physicians, members of the healthcare team, and patients and their families to guarantee the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient care **.** **Minimum Qualifications** : + **Education** : Completion of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred. + **Registered Nurse RN Licensure:** Must hold a valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure. + **Experience:** A minimum of 1 year of experience in Main or General Intraoperative (OR) nursing is required. Consideration will strongly be considered, provided expertise includes Circulatory and Scrub Operating Room RN. + **BLS or CPR certification:** Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required + Proficiency in practicing according to the recommended standards and guidelines of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses ( **AORN** ). **Position Highlights and Benefits** **:** Part-Time: Per Diem - Rotating Shifts. **Ministry/Facility Information** Saint Mary’s Hospital, operating since 1909, is a Catholic, not-for-profit, community teaching hospital dedicated to serving patients in Waterbury, CT, and the surrounding communities.
