Job Summary
SummaryActs as a central communication facilitator in a constantly changing, fast-paced, procedural setting.
-Provides administrative support to unit leadership to coordinate daily patient flow, including scheduling cases, communicating case changes and cancellations, and managing patient transport.
-Expected to effectively organize priorities, complete tasks on time, and manage confidential patient information.

Essential Functions
-Greets and interacts with all unit-based and hospital-wide clinicians, staff, and visitors in person and via communication tools in a professional manner.
-Schedules surgical procedures and patient transport throughout the perioperative department.
-Triages, prioritizes, and disseminates timely information related to surgical cases effectively and accurately.
-Contacts ancillary departments for equipment, services, and supplies that support unit operations.
-Records and relays staff attendance and assists with unit staffing assignments.
-Manages and transports blood products into the operating room.
Qualifications
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Prior experience in healthcare field desirable 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Medical or health care experience desirable, but willing to train qualified and willing candidates. - Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and procedures. - Computer knowledge in windows-based environment strongly preferred. - Effective interpersonal, team, and communication skills. - Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of people.
