Operating Engineer
Develop your engineering career at JLL.
The Operating Engineer leads the property operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to fire life systems, mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment, grounds, and all other building systems.
You will work as part of an engineering team of one at two properties, Class A office buildings in Charlotte.
This position requires the Operating Engineer to be on-site and able to manage other issues remotely when not.
Schedule: 7am-4pm Monday through Friday (with taking a one-hour lunch daily) + rotating on-call (currently 2 weeks on call every 6 weeks, currently covering six properties). Weekly Workday Schedule: Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays at property A, Tuesdays and Thursdays at property B, alternating at each property.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Complete assigned tasks that include but are not limited to painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts (as allowed by any licensing requirements), plumbing, HVAC systems, HVAC / IAQ troubleshooting, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance.Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete any tenant service requests.Support property issues remotely when needed.Comply with all safety procedures and documentation.Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.Other projects and tasks assigned.WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
Related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry a plus.Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)Ability to lift to 50 lbs.Comfort using ladders up to thirty feet tall and working at heights.Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or drive.Ability to walk and/or stand for the major of the day.Strong customer service skills.WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
