Onsite DOT Delivery Driver
Overview:
Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery, pick-up, and relocation of customer packages and mail in accordance with customer requirements and federal DOT compliance standards. Must meet all delivery safety standards.
Required:
Safe driving record and history. Eligibility to drive a commercial vehicle per FMCSR regulations. Valid driver’s license in accordance with company policy. Successful completion of a road test. Valid and current medical card. Minimum age of 20 and properly licensed in current state of residence. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid commercial driver’s license (if required by state). Ability to read maps and use electronic GPS. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to handle oversized and overweight packages. Ability to identify at-risk behaviors and make quick corrections. Strong customer presentation and communication skills. Comfortable using smartphones/tablets and handheld technology. Adequate reading, math, and legible writing skills. Certification in warehouse equipment operation may be required. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Risk of injury if proper lifting/moving procedures and road rules are not followed. Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling. Physical effort required for lifting packages up to 50 lbs. Diverse work assignments requiring comprehension and application of complex information. Work environments include office, warehouse, and vehicle settings with standard lighting, ventilation, and noise levels.
