Department OverviewThe US Federal Governments Markets Division (USFGMD) is chartered with being the premier, compliant supplier of world-class communications solutions to the U.S. Federal Government by providing the highest quality products, systems and services. The Federal Systems Technology department of the USFGMD is responsible for service supporting a charter of implementing and integrating complex systems sold worldwide to the US Federal Government. As a USFGMD On-Site System Technologist, you will be exposed to a wide variety of communications requirements in both the Presale and Post Sale phases of a project. These applications span the entire breadth of the US Federal Government throughout the world.
Job DescriptionThe On-Site System Technologist position is located onsite at the Ft. Drum, NY Military base. This position will be dedicated to the US Army ACE system at Fort Drum, NY.Candidates must be based within 1 hour from base.MUST be willing to travel by air up 10% of the time.The applicant will need to be self-motivated and be able to perform with indirect supervision.Troubleshooting and repair equipment in a timely manner.Customer training on Motorola Land Mobile Radio Products. This equipment is state of the art Astro 25 Trunking.Verbalize and communicate concepts and recommendations to the customers and within the Motorola Solutions organization.Provide a detailed understanding of Motorola systems to assist in the design, troubleshooting and maintenance of Motorola’s product lines.Able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer(s)3+ years experience as an Electronics/Field TechnicianExperience working with Motorola Infrastructure Technologies to include: Astro25 cores, MCC Console line, and third-party networking equipment.Must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certificateStrong networking skills (LAN and WAN) skills requiredUnderstanding of IA systems and Domain Administration in a Network Administration positionMust be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google SuiteMust be proficient in Motorola Customer Programming SoftwareMust be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain the necessary security clearance level that is required by the U.S. Federal Government Contracting Office
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
