The Non-destructive testing (NDT) specialist is responsible for conducting or directing critical inspections and providing accurate and concise interpretation of results on gas turbine or steam turbine parts utilizing manual or advanced NDT inspection systems. These inspections are carried out at power stations (combined cycle, fossil or nuclear sites) worldwide and/or at workshops.
Essential Responsibilities
Constantly travel to international sites or workshops and perform NDT inspections on gas turbines, steam turbines or generator components, write technical reports after inspections.Stay abreast of new technologies and test procedures within the organization and continually expand certifications.Support activities as required such as proposal support, equipment maintenance, process instruction revisions, new test development, interpretation of customer technical specifications, and develop productivity improvements.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
Eligibility Requirements
Current or prior Level II or III certification in two or more of the following NDT methods: UT, MT, ET, PT. Ability and willingness to pursue Level III certification if not already certified.Ability and willingness to travel and work globally on short notice up to 80% of the time, and for extended periods of time, including weekends and holidays.Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Possess a valid driver’s licensePossess or able to obtain a passport for international travelAble to qualify for an L-1 USA work visaAble to travel internationally to and from the Home Country and perform work without restrictionFluent in written and spoken EnglishGood communication skills, both verbal and writtenDemonstrated ability to plan, organize, schedule, motivate and train othersWork effectively with minimal direction and supervision
Desired Characteristics
NDT Level III certification in one or more methods Experience using digital data acquisition systems and NDT analysis software toolsPower generation industry experience in the field of nondestructive testingExperience in a customer service organization.
