On-site Aftermarket Engineer

Role Summary:

The On-Site Aftermarket Engineer is responsible for providing technical and commercial support for Flowserve’s aftermarket pump repairs, upgrades, and parts business. This role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, maintenance, and planning teams, to ensure seamless coordination from opportunity identification to final customer delivery. Acting as the primary liaison between customers and Flowserve, the engineer will ensure timely communication of customer requirements, manage orders, and facilitate aftermarket change notices. This position is based in Pekanbaru and requires a proactive approach to enhancing customer experience and expanding Flowserve’s business portfolio.

This position is based in Pekanbaru, and relocation is required for candidates residing outside of Pekanbaru.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical and commercial support for aftermarket pump repairs, upgrades, and parts.

Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring accurate and timely responses regarding pricing, availability, and delivery capabilities.

Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to identify early needs and enhance business opportunities.

Manage customer orders through Flowserve’s aftermarket operations, overseeing shipments to and from Flowserve facilities.

Ensure final inspections and proper shipping documentation are completed in accordance with customer requirements.

Participate in repair scope development to align with customer expectations and requirements.

Facilitate aftermarket change notices to capture BOM changes and ensure efficient quotation processes.

Communicate key site issues to the Sales Manager, Execution Manager, and Sales Engineer.

Engage in corrective action initiatives to drive quality improvements within the organization.

Provide clear verbal and written technical explanations to customers, adapting content as necessary.

Conduct unit walks, start-up support, troubleshooting, and research documentation.

Deliver training sessions for customers and sales teams.

Assist with quotation support as required.

Requirements:

Technical, engineering, or manufacturing background with extensive knowledge of rotating equipment, particularly pumps.

Strong customer-focused attitude, advocating for customer needs within Flowserve.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with multi-discipline teams.

Effective organizational skills, capable of prioritizing demands under high-pressure deadlines.

Ability to work in both plant and shop environments, adhering to safety requirements.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with a professional and customer-centric approach.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and general computer literacy.

Ability to travel locally between customer sites and Flowserve facilities.

Background in pump design, repair, manufacturing, and operational requirements.


Preferred Experience / Skills:

Familiarity with Flowserve’s product portfolio, tools, and business systems.

Experience working in a customer-facing engineering or aftermarket support role.

Previous experience handling technical and commercial inquiries in a fast-paced environment.
