Description

ICF is seeking an On-Call Proposal Editor to work variable hours supporting proposals and business development materials for ICF’s Corporate Growth division. The position will involve editing proposal materials on a wide variety of topics (e.g., cyber security, global health issues, disaster management, communications, energy, and transportation).

This is a part-time position. Hours will fluctuate weekly. Support will be expected for days, nights, weekends, holidays and overflow work. Candidates must have reliable internet and availability to communicate during ICF business hours (9:00AM – 5:00PM EST). This position is remote. You can work from anywhere in the United States.

Basic Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree; specialization in communications, English, journalism, or related field preferred
•    Minimum 5–7 years of technical or proposal editing experience
 

Key Responsibilities:
 
•    Edit documents for consistency in style, voice, word usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, parallel structure, and syntax while ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with ICF's overall communication strategy and proposal managers' expectations.
•    Provide constructive feedback and suggest rewrites to enhance clarity, coherence, and readability in collaboration with other ICF departments and proposal managers.
•    Enforce adherence to the EPC in-house style guide (which draws from APA, Chicago, and GPO) in alignment with ICF standards, coordinating with proposal managers and other editors.
•    Proactively manage proposal deadlines by prioritizing tasks and coordinating with management, technical staff, proposal managers, and other ICF units to develop winning proposals.
•    Mentor junior editors, providing guidance on editing standards, best practices, and internal communication protocols within ICF, in collaboration with proposal managers.
•    Maintain a high level of responsiveness to meet tight deadlines while ensuring effective communication across ICF and with proposal managers

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$67,020.00 - $113,934.00
