EnviroScience, Inc., headquartered in Stow, Ohio, with additional offices in North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, is a niche provider of environmental consulting services. EnviroScience is currently seeking an on-call field technician for our Stow, Ohio office who would only be utilized when project work demands exceed our existing staff. This is a part-time variable on-call position to grow our Scalable Workforce Team. Full-time work is not guaranteed. Most work would be East of the Mississippi but potential to travel all over the U.S.
Potential Responsibilities:
• Respond to Emergency Reponses including train derailments, oil spills, and other emergency responses throughout the U.S.
• Be on call and able to travel to various emergency responses for extended periods of time.
• Water, Sediment, Soil, and Waste Characterization Sampling
• Supporting tree and shrub planting projects
• Supporting snorkeling for freshwater mussels
• Supporting aquatic survey work
This is a predominantly on-call field work position working outside in various environments. Overnight travel and working for extended periods throughout Ohio and surrounding states will be project specific but overnight travel will be required.
Works with: Field leadership and project PMs
Working Conditions: On-site work, outdoors, on active ERs and construction sites. Overnight travel can be expected along with long days of field work. Ability to work in fast pace environment.
Physical Requirements: Communication with others to exchange information. Must be able to see, read, write and speak. Occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching. Working outdoors in all kinds of weather.
Walking and or hiking for periods of time including, maneuvering uneven, uphill, and downhill terrain. Moving objects up to 20-50lbs
Travel Requirements: % of travel time: 90-100% depending on project work location
Requirements:
• Hardworking, quick learner, and ability to work long hours while maintaining a positive attitude.
