Job Description

The role is to provide risk management support for the lines of business in the identification, measurement and aggregation of credit risk through appropriate practices and processes. The incumbent will act as the subject matter expert on credit risk management and provides guidance and structure to the lines of business to ensure credit risk management processes are both appropriately implemented and sound to ensure the business achieve its objectives.

The incumbent will also act as a subject matter expert of model risk management and provides guidance and structure to the lines of business to ensure model governance processes are both appropriately implemented and sound.

The successful candidate must have experience in diverse methodologies and deep experience in quantitative analytics to identify and solve complex and/or undefined credit risk problems.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Operations and Development 

Lead the development of the function and think strategically about how to improve, optimize, and expand it to meet the goals and objectives of the business, under the direction of the Chief Risk Officer.

Partner with the business at line 2 to mature risk management and prevention philosophy.

Technical Effort Management 

Oversee and manage the credit risks across the credit life cycle and throughout all on-going projects.

Manage resources within budget and project schedules

Organizational Management 

Team management

Planning and manage budgets related to operations and delivery of projects. 

Liaise with other relevant groups, partner organizations, and external vendors as needed in relation to operations matters. 

Advise team and business on the best use of models, disciplines and approaches within a fast-paced tech environment.

Communicate complex technical information to non-technical people in a comprehensible form.

Identify improvements to operational systems, processes, and policies in support of business strategy.

Minimum Requirements

5 Years + in a similar role5 Years + credit risk experience across the credit life cycle (acquisition, account management, collections and debt sale) and understanding of credit modelsBusiness Mathematics/Actuarial/Financial Engineering/Informatics/Quantitative Risk Management Degree with majors in Mathematics and StatisticsPreferred Certifications:Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and optional Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA)
