This includes management, technical and operational support for Mastercard, 10x and Paymentology service partners and driving digital payments solutions for card.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Provide second in line managerial and technical support in the Card business and project implementation team and squadHave deep understanding of digital payments horizonBe very well informed on new digital payment solutions and their implementation journeysProven success in driving digital payments projects from development to implementationShow strategic relevance of solutions in meeting the bank’s customer strategyPartner with the Head of Card to drive the Mastercard and Paymentology relationship to meet bank’s short and long term goalsPartner with Head of Card in product and team planning for long term and shortBe involved in managing team performanceProvide input to billing and budget conversationsShow understanding of the fraud landscape and how it pertains to cardManage relationship with internal stakeholders that touches card and the payments eco-systemRepresent the bank in relevant Card PCHs and protect the bank’s interestsRepresent the bank in various SARB engagementsContribute to collating and representing the bank’s opinion and long term interests on SARB industry papersBe a reliable stakeholder in driving and managing the relationship with Mastercard, Paymentology and 10x to ensure delivery of projects and conclusion of incidentsProvide insight to Business Analysts to formulate Business requirements for projectsDrive prioritisation of projects in the roadmapManage relationship with external suppliers Provide the second line team with support to resolve customer queries for card transactions where neededBe first in line for the escalation of unresolved card incidentsCard related processing exceptions and disputes Provide insight for new enhancements with the aim of continuously improving and automating processes (incl. SOPs, UAT testing and post deployment checks) Review and understand daily and monthly management reports for card transactionsShow ability to understand trends in customer transaction data and ability to present data insights to senior colleaguesParticipation in all internal and external audit reviews Ensure all operational processes and execution are compliant with industry regulationsROLE REQUIREMENTS
Tertiary education in the technical or business arena.Minimum 10 years’ work experience in card and business operational related roles A strong understanding of the technology and commercials that support Card Comprehensive knowledge of card payment systems Working operational experience with Mastercard and/or Paymentology - AdvantageousWe are looking for a smart, energetic, highly experienced and dynamic achiever who takes initiative and ownership, and who thrives on constant challenges and high-speed change. Knowledge and experience of the payments industry, schemes and regulations and more specifically, the National Payment System (NPS)Strong understanding of the movement of data in a card transactionStrong understanding of the 4 party modelStrong understanding of the Mastercard position in the regionUnderstanding of PASA and PCH frameworkComputer literacy, Microsoft office: Outlook, PowerPoint, MSWord, MS Excel and MS Teams Financial and accounting knowledge – understanding basic financial accounting and financial principlesPersonal Attributes
Independent self-starter who also works well in a team-environment Advanced written and verbal communication skills, able to translate payment concepts into general business concepts. Demonstrate Intense Customer/Seller Focus and Highest level of Integrity, Intellectual Honesty and Strong Work Ethic. Be Sharp, Analytical and thoughtful.
