The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Career & Professional Development at Belmont University will serve as an extension of the career development coaching team. The position reports directly to the Associate Director of the Office of Career & Professional Development and works under the guidance of career development specialists. The Graduate Assistant will receive a regular evaluation by the direct supervisor related to work progress and performance.
Expectations:
The Graduate Assistant will maintain a 10-hour/week schedule set at the beginning of each semester. Time off and schedule adjustments would need to be approved in advance by supervisor

Will maintain effective and efficient communication with supervisor
Responsibilities:
Provide professional development coaching (resume and cover letter review and practice interviews) online, individually, and in group settings
Present to students and student organizations in the classroom and residence halls
Assist with career development programs and events (Work Well series, Career Fairs)
Assist with approving employers and postings into the OCPD career management system
Assist with collection of First Destination data six months after each graduation
Attend university events and represent the OCPD
Attend team meetings and contribute ideas to better serve our students and employers
Other duties as assigned
Key Outcomes:
Will support coaching appointments offered and decrease appointment wait time
Will prepare students for the job search process and interviewing for internships and jobs
Will provide assistance with programs and events and enhance customer service
Will expedite job and internship postings
Will support the collection of first destination data
