This position is responsible for: weighing/ticketing customer trucks, assisting with administrative tasks, and completing purchase orders. Essential Functions Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel cultureOperate scale house computers to obtain weight informationIssue weight/product ticketsSchedule and direct trucksCollaborate with the sales department and dispatch to develop understanding of business needsCommunicate with customers/vendors to exchange information about products, materials, and servicesAnswer incoming calls and emailsManage daily inventory recordsIdentify and research problematic tickets and document findingsAddress customer concerns with the management teamMaintain, monitor, and clean work areasAssist plant manager and office staff as requiredCost TrackingPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week with occasional travel to other Martin Marietta sites. Preferred Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentCustomer service experiencePrevious scale operator experiences preferredPrevious accounts payable or receivable experience preferredProficient within Microsoft Outlook programsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work with minimal supervisionKnowledge of MSHA regulationsEffective verbal communicationKnowledge of heavy mobile equipment and tools including their design, use, and maintenancePhysical AbilitiesThis job operates 80-90% of the time in an office environment and 10-20% of the time outdoors.Employees are occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
