**Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join our Forensic Services team.**
The Forensics Services campus in St. Peter is comprised of the Forensic Mental Health Program and the Forensic Nursing Home. Forensics Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment.
The Unit Coordinator will provide technical and administrative support to treatment units at the Forensic Mental Health Program Grove 4.
**Responsibilities include:**
• Scheduling and clerical tasks for treatment units
• Maintain unit calendar to reflect doctors rounding schedules, clinical review meetings, treatment team meetings, and community integration outings
• Coordinate and act as a liaison with the scheduling office for patient medical appointments
• Send treatment review notifications to case managers and others that are identified by the social worker.
• Perform various clerical functions such as, transcription; copying and distributing documents; processing legal documents; collecting, tracking and summarizing data; overseeing administrative record management and movement; maintaining current employee and patient information systems, ordering and maintaining of supplies
• Demonstration of commitment to the mission and values of the organization, the rights of people with disabilities to live with dignity and respect, and the philosophies of inclusion and strengths-based, person-centered planning.
• Adapting to Change: Anticipate, keep pace and be proactive in addressing patients’ evolving needs within a development service delivery system.
The position needs to complete responsibilities timely and qualitatively to assure the confidence of the Forensic Services supervisor and staff. The individual must be capable of prioritizing workload priorities and working autonomously, but able to request supervisor assistance when indicated. Routine duties and projects must be completed timely and consistently, following initial instruction or per established guidelines. The individual is expected to request consultation of the supervisor for issues/concerns that exceed the parameters of the position description and/or for which further clarification is needed to complete the assignment.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Customer Services skill sufficient to provide information to clients, including phone calls and walk in contacts in helpful and courteous manner within a Forensic healthcare setting.
+ Data Entry skills sufficient to create database records and update entries or create and apply the basics of spreadsheets and supply/retrieve information in databases within a Forensic healthcare setting.
+ Database Management skills sufficient to maintain database systems and records as assigned.
+ Desktop Publishing skills sufficient to produce materials and develop and maintain mailing lists and other documentation accurately and with proficiency.
+ Spreadsheets skills sufficient to develop and modify basic spreadsheets, and sort and extract data
+ Typing/Keyboarding skills sufficient to complete a variety of reports, letters and data summaries
+ Word processing skills sufficient to develop and modify a variety of correspondence, records and reports; perform mail merges, develop forms and charts.
