As a private partnership, we believe our ownership structure fosters a long-term view that aligns our perspectives with those of our clients. **About the Role** **RISK MANAGEMENT FUNCTION AND SUSTAINABILITY RISK MONITORING** The Risk Management Function is based in Luxembourg and comprises the Head of the Permanent Risk Management Function, a Risk Manager and a Risk Analyst and it bears responsibility for overseeing all risk identification, measurement, monitoring, management, reporting, and if needed escalation and remediation of breaches. As capital markets and client expectations evolve and change, we have seen increased client interest in sustainable investment practices and strategies. In concert with these shifts, Wellington has launched a number of bottom-up initiatives, including starting new investment strategies and working groups focused on climate assessment, environmental, social, and governance integration, and impact investments. When launching a sub-fund, the Risk Management Function will review its sustainability risk exposure and document it in the sub-fund’s initial risk profile. We use different metrics to monitor the environmental, social and governance risk of our investments. **THE POSITION** We are seeking an intern to join the Risk Management & Sustainability Risk team in our Luxembourg office. Duration will be between 6-12 months dependent on the individual and needs of the team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of ESG strategies, helping Wellington understand and integrate sustainability into investment/business policies and processes. Secondly, the intern will be involved in the implementation of risk management policies and procedures, in automating the tracking of the risk profiles of each fund, and for ensuring compliance with risk limits. Non-exhaustive responsibilities: + Inform SI policy/process and lead on process execution across various environmental, social, and governance investment and business topics. + Undertake research projects on pressing sustainable investment issues, analyze material ESG issues in portfolio companies, gather data for engagements, enhance ESG risk assessment frameworks, and analyze voting and engagement results. + Daily monitoring of the fund’s risk in line with regulatory and Group internal requirements (UCITS, AIFMD). + Automating the monitoring of risk parameters (VAR, stress testing, leverage, liquidity, counterparty, sustainability risk, etc.) against established limits, and researching and escalating breaches. + Automating controls to ensure compliance with UCITS and AIFMD regulatory requirements. + Maintaining risk related policies, procedures, and documentation. + Support the Conducting Officer and the other team members as required. + Providing reporting on risk monitoring results to the EU management committee and boards. **QUALIFICATIONS** + Strong academic track record and fast learner + Strategic mindset and ability to execute from start to finish + Ability to work independently and with a team + Analytical skill and excellent attention to detail + Curiosity, ingenuity, and research skills + Desire & excitement to work closely with data & technology + Effective verbal and written communication skills + Capital markets knowledge – preferred + Course work/interest in sustainable investment (impact, climate, SI policies/processes)– preferred + Experience in data science (data cleaning, validation, analysis, visualization) – preferred Not sure you meet 100% of our qualifications?
